She's gonna be fast but I will be surprised if its anywhere resembling lightweight....they would have to do some drastic weight cutting.
I think it looks neat but definitely shows its G35/350Z roots...

^^^I concur^^^ but I must add my .02
It doesnt look anything like a skyline. Kinda like the mentality of the GTO. Wrong badge for a nice lookin car.

Great package, but it will be interesting to see where they price it at. Do they undercut the base Corvette or do they price it somewhere between the base and Z06? I think it has to open cheaper than a base 'Vette to sell.

b/c its not a skyline its a GT-R...the G35 is a Skyline (350GT) in Japan...I've been seeing 60-65k and dealers are taking pre-order deposits for them already no way its going to be cheaper than a base vette its going to smoke a base vette 0-60 in under 4 seconds not many cars under 100k can do that. It will probably be competitive with a z06 vette/m3/porche

Negative, it is not going to be 0-60 in under 4 seconds, I have read in Motor Trend that it will be sub 5 seconds and even if it comes close to touching a Z51 Corvette it isnt even going to touch the Z06. BUT if it does there is still the Blue Devil, but I know it wont touch the Z06's performance.

motor trend reliable source :amraam: All we can do is wait but I'm banking on it will be sub 4 sec or close to it no one is going to spend 65k on a car thats barely much faster than its little bro the G35

Under 4 seconds is in the under 5 second range.
GTR is the brute force G35 *cough* I meant to say Skyline.
Did anybody catch a glimpse of the exhaust under that beastie? And the taillights are gonna make Corvette lights seem dinky and squinty.

it'll do less than 7:52 around Nürburgring at the very least.

There are very few poeple who will be willing to pay that kind of money for a Nissan. This car could be the start of the resurrection of mid 90's overpriced Japanese sports cars. As big as the Skyline's popularity is overseas most Americans can't relate and will see it as the second coming of the 300ZX turbo... unless they can price it to start around 40 grand.

The 07 G35 does 0-60 in 5.2 you can bet your ass it will be much faster than that

I dont think they plan on it being a high volume seller. A loaded 08 G35 coupe will probably run around 42-43k so thats your base skyline. When the NSX came out people probably said the same thing who the FUK is gonna pay 100k for a honda? but it still sells :) People are putting deposits on them already and nissan hasnt even confirmed any performance details on the car. Nissan has made a big turnaround from the mid 90s. I'm a fanboy true but mark my words it will sell.

It probably will sell and well at that due to all the hype the Skyline/GTR/Whatever you wanna call it, has. To most importers this is kinda of portrayed as THE ride to have or at least thats my impression. At the same time though I can't help but wonder if they will sell due to that and then people find out they're not as wonderful as previously thought. Granted it has some good numbers, but I think only time will tell for certain. It will certainly be kudos to Nissan if they do it and do it well, but seeing as how car companies rarely get it right this all might be for nothing.

Its new. It looks good. And ricers all over the world are creaming their 16-year old jeans over it.
Corvette FTW.
