I have seen this done before, but i was wondering if anyone with a GA has used an exhaust pipe to make a CAI. If so, could you direct me to a how to? Thank You.

No, because it's too small. Stock exhaust is 2.25" and most aftermarket are 2.25" or 2.5". Even the smallest cheapest ebay civic intake that people use to make intakes from are 3". Exhaust pipe is too small to make a good intake. You'll actually lose power. You can get 3" or larger exhaust pipe, but it's heavier and will get more heat soaked, so you might as well just get aluminum pipe. There are several places you can get pipe and couplers to make your own intake. Try www.boostcontroller.com or http://stores.channeladvisor.com/verociousmotorsports/ .

hey if your trying to go a cheapie route, you can use dryer ducting...
yes, the same stuff in your house. i've seen 10ft of 3" for under 10 dollars. its flexible aluminum (heat soak) and will fit like a cai will with some "convincing" and then just clamp it to your maf sensor and cone filter.
good luck

^ Terrible idea. That will slow down your air velocity worse than the stock air box and be less durable on top of that. You can make a home made CAI for under $100. If you aren't willing to spend that then leave your car stock and do something else like collect stamps.

there is a GA here in town that I saw, and he used the "U" portion of what looked like a drainage system for a sink. It was about 3.5", rubber and looked decent. He also had a AEM Cone air filter on it. I didn't get to hear it but he says it works pretty good. I honestly didn't like the way it looked.

Exhaust pipe? Dryer ducting? Seriously if you can't afford it, you don't need it.
