View Full Version : Oil Leaking

I've recently had a small leak that's been dripping a bit of oil pretty constantly.

I've found out that it's likely the line from the supercharger as well as the fitments.

Anyone have any thoughts in regards to if these parts are easily possible to buy ? (from Vortech maybe ?)

Just called Z-Spec (forgot what they called themselves now) and asked them to call me back.

Another thing, would these things be easy to change in a driveway just by jacking the car up ?

Thanks for any answers.

They should be just standard -AN lines and fittings you can get at summit racing or a dozen other places. Not hard to change at all.

I don't know, but I've had a small oil leak for some time now. I plan to put the car on ramps this winter and drop the pan again to see where the leak is. After that, it's just a matter of sealing it up. Should be a pain in the butt, though, I still have nightmares from when I took my oil pan off last time. Parts are easy enough to buy, I don't think there are any unique fittings. You've got the vortech, right?

Hey Aaron

Thanks for the quick reply.

The -AN lines should be something that pretty much most dealerships should have in stock ?

The fittings themselves (assuming I can get enough information on what size, etc I need) should be availiable al most perfomance shops ?

No most dealerships won't carry any -AN stuff since most factory cars don't use -AN fittings. This is an aftermarket kit so don't expect an oem dealer to carry parts that will work with it. You need to go to summit like I said, or find a local speed shop or accessories store to help you. They are probably either -4 or -6AN. Those are the two most common sizes for small fuel and/or oil lines since they are closest to 1/4" and 3/8" line sizes.

Ahhh, as you can tell my superior knowledge (lol) is shining through !

So I'm completely guessing atm but I would think I would need 3 feet of -4/6NA piping ?

Would I want the flexable piping like : this? (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=AER%2DFCA0603&N=700+4294924496+4294821621+115&autoview=sku)

Or would this be fine : this? (http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=SUM%2D230803&N=700+4294924496+4294821621+115&autoview=sku)

Thanks again for the help.

Not sure on fittings yet (still looking)

Hey Sam, you said above it's "likely" leaking from the line and fittings. You see this yourself?? "Likely" makes me think your doing something you are not sure about. PM me, or call, and lets have a look at what is going on. Maybe a quick fix? Who knows, it would be worth a look anyway. Give me a buzz and I'll get Shawn to join up.

Who installed it?

I had a bit of a leak from one fittment. All i did was undo it, clean it, re-teflon tape it, put it back together. Is ZSpec RSM??

Yeah, RSM is now Zspec. Too many people with broken superchargers wanting refunds or replacements so they changed their name. Thats my theory anyway...
