I googled it and only found 1 other forum disussing it. I just typed in *glass rim*, *glass rims* and *glass wheels*.
Im thinking they are probably more of a plexi material, I would think glass would not flex enough and there for be shattering all the time.
Wouldnt that suck, if those do break, chances are breaking one breaks all of them (from the added weight) and then youve got your car sliding scraping and sparking down the street on its brake rotors. Mmmmm damage

Interesting concept and with the right brake setup it'd look real good. But I agree with the general consensus of too fragile for anything but show.

It definately cant be glass or plexi.
Clear aluminum, now that makes sense but still iffy. Clear aluminum supposedly isnt very strong.
I think this concept would look best on sport bikes.

If that ish can hold a couple whales in the holding bay of a Klingon Bird of Prey, why not make wheels out of it! lol

That design would be really horrible for brake cooling...
Thats no better than putting 24's on a car. Yet another example of common sense taking a back seat to style and ignorance.

I'd put 1" TV's on my rotors.
Then I'd put holes in the rim so that it whistled...whooooo wooo!

Right fully so with something like this, computers and programs can be very deceiving (sp?).
Im gonna go against the grain and say i like them...alot.
Still would look better on a sport bike than a car.

It would be cool to have some sort of lighting behind those at night... it would look insane!
Also, I wonder about brake cooling... no slots in the rims means not as much air flowing through there...
Agreed, I really like them alot and putting some sort of LED Lighting or an underbody kit would make them SICK.

my guess would go on polycarbonate as the material used. doesn't take much of the stuff to be bulletresistant, and it's decently priced. a 14"x14" custom cut at 1/4" thickness ran me $75 shipped from cali. i would maybe guess these are around half an inch, possibly more for thickness, just to stay on the safe side. probably didn't run him more than $750 tops for materials.

If so those are some expensive rims! I was using some of that to make car parts-cost like 50 for a few inches.

"There is a lot of cool and crazy stuff at SEMA, but these clear D'Vinci Forgiato Radurra wheels definitely caught my eye. They're two inch thick polycarbonate, and are available in 20, 22 and 24 inch sizes for around $2k each. "
just thought this would put a stop to speculation....

AHAHA, i was right, polycarbonate, wooohoo!
but 2 inches? good god, that's more than is necessary. btw, this thickness puts my old estimate on costs out the window, $2k/wheel is about right then for the product.

I was in Vegas for the SEMA convention and I did see them on a car in person. Diffrent , thats for sure. In person it does look really cool.
