View Full Version : Over-oiling K&N filter
is it possible to over-oil it? this weekend i cleaned it for the first time in a year (it needed it) and i oiled it but i wasnt sure if i put enough on. Today when i was sitting at a traffic light i noticed my car idling a little funny ;crap. Think the oil could hav caused this? I didnt know if it was just a normal "we take no fault" warning or something legit. Ive never heard of it happening so i wanted to check.

it happens even from the factory.. GM has a TSB about it effecting the MAF sensor...
basically you are gonna start getting some issues but no worries just be sure to take the MAF apart eventually and clean it out with some air intake cleaner spray, let it dry out for a bit then put it all back together...
unless you went way overkill dont worry
ok...as long as thats it.
whew *wipes brow*
