Windshield Replacement?

I caught a rock today in my windshield and the damn thing is toast.

Question is, have any of you replaced your windshileds yourself? If so did you get the glass online? locally? Was it difficult?

Is this something you are better off just paying someone else to do?

What about the trim? Do you replace that yourself?

What can I expect to pay for someone to change the glass?

i have never done this myself, but i imagine that it would be much better just to go and get it professionally done. this is something that you don't want focked up.

I had mine replaced. I paid right around $320 for it.

my insurance covered mine.... i think i just paid $50 deductible

It's better to pay your deductible and have a professional do it. They know how to properly clean and prep the area and secure the windshield. I've had mine replaced a couple of times, and insurance covers it minus the comprehensive deductible (look at your insurance policy), so don't worry, you won't have to pay whatever your collision deductible is.
