Alright heres the deal. I can get a indash dvd for really cheap, but the problem is the unit is 7" deep, and the factory spot for a radio is only 6 1/2" deep. What can I do to make this fit and look right. The problem is the piece in the back of where the radio will go sticks out, and without some major cutting of support brackets I am at a lose. How bout some ideas I know you guys on here are quite good at mock ups as Ive seen over the years many interesting things done. So fellas how bout some creative solutions to getting this unit into my car. Thanks, and yes I searched and didnt really find anything that answers this question.

I installed the slide down Dual CD player and my dash was too shallow, so looking into your dash you will see a vertical piece of steel between the two tubes that are on top and bottom, you will have to cut that out for it to slide in...just use a short hack saw (the one I used was I think like 8 inches long with a 4 inch stiff blade) and cut it out, nothing will fall, nothing will fall out. That should solve your problem.

2 things you can do
1.most dash kits com in either flush, out a little or out alot, so chekc and c if there are other choices
2.take a dremel to that thing in the back and get it gone.i had to do it when i installed my last HU

When I installed mine the install kit came with 2 trim peices: 1 was flush mounting, the other stuck out about 1/2 inch. My kit was from Canadian Tire cant remember what brand, thats all you need with that no cutting no problems.
