View Full Version : blinkers work and then they stop working

I'm having problems with a 2000 Grand Am GT. Sometimes the blinkers work and then they stop working. I can crank up the car and it'll work fine, but after going down the road for a little bit, they stop working all together. I bought a round blinker relay, but I don't know where they install on these cars.. on most cars, it's below the dash, but I can't find where it goes on the Grand Am. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not sure but the one SICC posted may be a different problem. Many Grand Am's had a recall on the hazard switch causing the signal to stop working. Next time it happens turn on then off your hazard lights and see if the turn signals start working again. If so go to a local dealership and see if your car falls under that recall (free fix).

Yeah man, take it in to a Pontiac shop and they'll fix it for free. It's a recall, it happened to me like a year ago. That's definetely the problem.

Ditto on the above, I have an 02 gt1 thats allegedly "not covered" under the recall according to my dealership but they fixed it for free anyway.. How nice of them. Just take it to the dealership, they will defintely know what you are talking about.
