Engine codes?

I am trying to buy an ignition coil for my 2003 GT. It is AC DELCO # D555 / D-555 and GM # 10472401. It says it is for 3.4 Litre engine code E. The VIN is , does this mean I have engine code E and that this part is correct for my car? Thanks
