...Just wandering what you guys think of Kenwood's amplifiers? I'm looking for an amp to push my Alpine Type R's to around 1kWatts@2Ohm, and saw the price on this hot little number. So, whatchy'all thank?!

Thanks,

Ive got the 9102D amp, which is just one step down, but similar power ratings..i have liked it, but it lack really good low power like less than 50 or 60 hz, i had a small crossover hooked up with it and it did wonders...otherwise it is certainly a good amp to push subs hard, especially for the price. ive had it pushing 2 12 power acoustik subs and have liked it a lot. sound quality isnt amazing, and at high levels it gets a little muddy, and it sucks quite a bit of power i have found...

My one friend had two 12" alpines and he used a rockford p5002 amp to push them, sounded pretty good. I also have a friend that uses a sony xplode 1000w amp (i dont like sony though).

The seller, High Desert Audio, is where RF dumps all there refurbs, b-stock, etc. The t5002 is only rated @ 500 watts, but the RF power series put out almost double. I've seen 5-6 birth sheets for that model and they all put out over 1k into 2ohm or 1ohm bridged. Google around for birthsheets on that puppy and you will see. A friend of mine has a t8004 that is rated for 50x4 and puts out about 125x4. They are pretty big though, so make sure it'll fit. Everyone bags on RF saying they aren't as good as they used to be, and it may be true on the base models, but the power series amps are no joke. I had an all RF DSM setup back in the mid 90's and the power series amps live up to the name.
