So does anyone actually have the super charger '4,400' off of PFYC.com?

http://www.pfyc.com/pc/GA3017/GAUNDER/RSM+Supercharger+Kit.html

I dont see any reviews on it and was wondering if it actually did what it says it does... 80 hp... Does anyone know of anyone who has this spacific kit and has it on/working well? Thx

I will go ahead and fill you in on my expierences. I currently have one in my possession that I have torn down and am in the process of fine tuning for reliability and performance.

THE BAD

1. Bearing Failure
2. Cheap Machine Keys = sloppy tolerences
3. PCM is the stock program with a few things turned off in it (not properly tuned)
4. Kit removes the MAF sensor which, is almost a necessity to properly tuning the engine.

THE GOOD

The good news is that everything can be fixed fairly inexpensively.

1. The bearing that RSM / Z-spec uses was a rubber shielded bearing that will not last, a replacement metal shielded bearing Part #1630ZZ should provide a much more reliable supercharger.

2. Machine Keys made of a stronger metal can be purchased for less than $10 for a pack of 20.

3. To properly tune the PCM, it is recommeded that you purchase a DHP powrtuner or a HPtuners tuning package.

4. You can reinstall the MAF

Again I will admit RSM / Z-Spec overlooked several details, however I believe that once these items are addressed that the supercharger will not only be reliable but also perform quite well.

Good to know... did you ever dyno your car after you had it on? If so what horsepower did you get out of it?

if you really want reliable boost, someone is selling an eaton SC in the for sale section. that would be your best bet.

Ah ha, but he's waiting and making sure he has everything he needs to it doesn't break on him. Preparation is the key to success! :heh:

I imagine that 01GAGT will have some excellent results with that 3500 top end and a centrifugal supercharger, especially since he seems to have a good command of the Powrtuner.

I'm still learning how to tune my car, and that's long after I installed my turbo. I'm sure I'll get my tune figured out just in time for my next mod which will throw it all out the window lol

It's definitely best to get the tuning software first, get frustrated, then comfortable with it, then make some major upgrades.

so will there be anothe 12 second GA in our midst soon?

it'd be nice to see someone with slips instead of claims.

So an Eaton SC is a pretty good one for the GA.

So an Eaton SC is a pretty good one for the GA.

it WILL make a car pretty peppy. You couple it with some other supporting mods and tuning. You CAN get yourself some easy 13's.

I think he's still looking for slips from Pat, I'm not sure if he's current on his (but then again, he's not claiming to have the fastest GA on the site, either).

Sounds like he's got a Self Assurance Disorder.

Probably is looking for Pat's. I don't think Pat ever posts his slips though because I don't think he has a scanner. Dozens of us have all seen his car run those times though so we all agree his times are legit. Chalk it up to S.A.D. lol

Should be BOV first, then MAF, then TB. That way when the BOV opens the air that's escaping has not gone thru the MAF and been metered. Otherwise it will mess up the fueling.

Actually he said it in the right order...

The first thing after the s/c is your BOV, then your MAF, then your TB.

Maybe he's thinking opposite direction?

Maybe he's thinking opposite direction?

Possibly, but you should always be thinking of things in the direction that the air flows, from the air filter all the way to the intake ports on the heads.
