As long as its made by DEI its going to be pretty good, which most alarms are anyways. If you like viper but cant affoard it, try Python. Still made by DEI, its the series below viper.

I paid $800 for my compustar 2 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did to my car.... well worth the price tag for the piece of mind. :)

Wait..WHAT? 800 bucks for a car alarm?
I paid 250 CDN and it works just fine. Its just an insurance break. PLus what is the point of a pager. I dunno about you, but I'm nowhere near my car when I'm at work. And if they want my car in my driveway, I may raise off the pillow enough to listen to the alarm driving down the street.

I second that motion....
I got this installed a lil after my car got broken into. It hit me for $120.00 shipping and all. Cost me an extra $90.00 at Circuit City to get it installed with a lifetime warrantee. It workes damb good, have not had any problems at all with it at all.

The pager gives me great notification. I've ran out at least 10 times since I got it and chased off punks seeing if the alarm works. It's not even an insurance break here, with all the wannabe gangstas in the area it's definarely worth making them think twice. Prior to the alarm I had over $1200 in insurance deductables in one year for vandalism. Last year I didn't make a single claim :)
