It hasn't ran yet. I had an accident a few months back that cost me some precious time before some of the major events this year. Right now the car is at the shop having all the chassis seams stitch welded for added rigidity, and having some sheet metal work done. It's a work in progress. I'll keep you guys posted when i fire it up.

Yes, I plan on offering a turbo kit, which I hope to have available sometime early 2007. We're building that on a "stock" Grand Am right now. The turbo setup on mine is highly custom, so it wouldn't make sense to make the kit like that one. I'll also post when I have some news on this Grand Am turbo kit.

do you really need someone to help to make a turbo kit for an ecotec?

www.hahnracecraft.com make your own intercooler plumbing, the rest is all you need.

I would just need a car, and some orders up front. the IC plumbing would essentially transfer over since it's the same car, provided we use the same IC, the other parts would be different.

Your are realigning the chassis on the smacked up GA? Damn, sounds like it would be easier to just get a fresh donor than go through all that measuring dis and reassembly...

Good luck with the T Kit, I can't wait to see the results as well. And remember MONDO suspension mods for this final track setup. If Milzy manages to get this car to the track and performing (MID 12's) it will mean (finally) someone has a one stop shop turbo kit, tranny, ECM and suspension mods!!!

Git her done.

I'm thinking around $4000 for the kit which will include all the turbo parts as well as the injectors and fuel pump needed. I will have an exact price when we're done with the first one.

A Stage 2 NA cam will be better than a stock cam on the turbo kit, but will not be as optimum as a Stage 2 turbo cam which is designed for boost. The Stage 2 heads and other parts will be no problem.

MilzyZ34

Is the Turbo going to be Ball Bearing or is that up to us?

The turbo will be a non-ball bearing Precision Garrett turbo in the standard kit, and an upgrade to ball-bearing will be available for somewhere in the 400-500 range. The turbo will be sized properly so that even a non-ballbearing one will spool up quickly, but the BB one will be an upgrade.

My Grand Am has never been hit. I'm having the chassis stitch welded at every seam in order to really stiffen up the body. It's just a way to make everything a little stronger.

I'll probably be fabricating some custom coilovers for the suspension on the race car.

I would be really made and disappointed if the car only ran Mid 12's.

mmmm, yeeeaaaaah.... not knocking spys achievement with 12's or anything... but the difference between 4 bangers and v8's is the v8's can be made to run 11's more easily, more cheaply, and more reliably than his car runs 12's. They'll walk all over him all day long.

Oh yea I'll agree to that. There will always be someone better and with more power. But my thought is just that anyone can take a v8 and make it go fast. The real challenge is to find those creative enough and willing to make such a odd ball car like the GA fast.

Considering I'm in uncharted waters for this platform I'll tend to agree to a point.

this thread isn't about a kit for production..atleast not yet..it's about a turbo car our sponsor is supposed to be working on.

run some searches on here and you may find some good information about how to run a turbo on your 3100.

Perhaps there is a reason beyond just not having time?

Nope, that's the reason. I've been working around the clock for months now on many cars and projects. Last month alone I did 9 major jobs including 5 engine swaps. To put it bluntly, I've been absolutely slammed. I'm sorry if some of you feel I've neglected the message forums, but something had to give, and I couldn't give up answering my e-mails or doing the actual work that pays the bills. I'm finally able to see the light at the end of the tunnel right now, as I only have 5 cars here right now that I have to get ready for racing, plus a few more that will come in the next week or so. As far as not updating the website, I know this has been an issue for a while, but I just have not had the time to do it. Sometimes I feel that to get something done on time or done the way I want, I'm the one who has to do it, so that usually means my schedule gets pretty full. Some sacrifices had to be made, the website not being updated in some sections was one of them.

Anyways, update on the turbo car. The bad thing about being so busy is I've had to put my car on the backburner lately. I started working on it again this week, when I made the new wiring harness for the car. It's getting there. I've still got to get some changes made to the cage, and get the coil-over suspension setup ready, and just start getting everything buttoned up.

As for the production turbo kit car, we hope to have something done with that one in the next week. I'll keep you guys posted.

Anyways, I'm still around, I've been here the whole time, not lurking or anything else, just working. You guys can reach me anytime you want at mikem@milzymotorsports.com which I check daily if not a few times a day. I'll also try to frequent the boards a little more as i can.

We're making a lot of custom one-off pieces for my grand am. Whether or not they actually make it to production is going to depend on how well they perform and how well they would work on a daily driven street car.

That zzp drag car has WELL over $50k into it. I bet they have come near or past the $100k mark. The initial cost may be close to $50k, but parts dont last that long when you make silly amounts of power, no matter wtf they are made of.

I'm trying real hard. Only thing that usually gets in the way is all the customers' cars I have to work on. It sucks sometimes having to push mine off, but that's my job.

I'm looking to get it out to the track before things start closing. Worst case, I think I'll take a road trip and go to the tracks that are open.

The ZZP TT car is pretty nasty. I don't have that much work into this one. I haven't added up exactly how much i have in it, but I know I don't have 50k in it. The car is a stock chassis grand am with a cage that ties into the wheelie bars, has custom coil overs, etc. It isn't a full tube chassis car like ZZP's. I can't afford to put like 10k+ just in the chassis work, so I'm just trying to make it as light as I can.
