View Full Version : Coolant reservoir tank line replacement?

I just changed my thermostat today and I tried to remove the reservoir tank line from the thermostat housing, but I didn't realize until it was too late that I twisted it. I was at the point of no return and when I tried to twist it back it broke off.

How does one go about replacing this? Autozone doesn't sell them... perhaps I need to go to the junkyard tomorrow?

Also, I do realize that I didn't need to remove it afterall.

Junkyard or dealer are your two options. Most dealers probably won't have it in stock.

Just get some rust penetrant (PB blaster, Liquid wrench) and soak the fitting where it goes into the coolant neck. Use a wrench and remove. Install is reverse of removal. Just be careful because the fitting is brass IIRC.
