help with ported box

or does that not matter or other way around?

When you design the ports for a box, what you are doing there is setting the frq for the subs. It all depends on what frq you want to hit. some are futher away from the back wall and some are closer. Ports have to have a certain amount of air space that is calculated along with the size of the box. You can make a port any shape as long as it has the right amount of air space.

If the port is wider AND shorter, the Fb (or tuning frequency) will be substantially higher than the one which is narrower and longer.
