muffler question

will running the car without a muffler cause any damage?

ok well heres the story. when i installed my slp the exhaust would make a clanging noise whenever i went over bumps and it finally got on my nervs so i decided to take out the muffler. there still is some noise when going over bumps but a lot less of it. now i noticed that its coming from the pipe that connects to the muffler as it bounces when going over bumps.
any other slp users have this problem? and any ideas on how to eliminate it?
noises drive me crazy lol

Yeah its somewhat common.
