I should be getting my ZEX kit in a few weeks, and was wondering how and where you are all mounting he bottle? I am just curious before I get this thing.
Thank you!

In the trunk with the valve forward. Some people mount them behind the seat, sideways, etc. For safety purposes, valve forward is recommended. The gas is under several thousand PSI in there and if someone hits you, the bottle blows away from you this way.
Enjoy the kit!

Thanks for that help. Another more specific question I had was, how exactly do you secure the bottle down? i am a little unsure of how I will have to do this. Any insight would be appreciated!
Thanks,
Brett

I had mine mounted in the trunk, I bolted the bottle brackets to a flat piece of wood (flat steel would be better) and bolted the wood down to the trunk floor. I tried a nitrous T-handle shut off in the interior that I could shut off, but I left the bottle open and it would leak nitrous through the lines. Then I bought the NOS remote bottle opener and found out it would not open in the Summer, because the bottle pressure was high, it worked fine if the temp outside was cooler. NOS said if the pressure is too high you should probably not be using it anyways. I ended up putting it in the back seat on the floor and I open it by hand when needed. I made a couple brackets from the front seat bolts to hold it, it's not the best but it works.
If you plan on using it in the Winter time you will need a bottle heater, I've seen the bottle pressure on cold days (32 degrees) down to 450lbs, especially in the trunk. 850-900lbs is about normal.
The ZEX bottle opener looks like it is mechanical (electric motor) so that may work just fine, I have never used ZEX so I don't know for sure.
If you plan on taking your car to a NHRA track the bottle will have to be securely bolted down and will need a blow down tube if it is in the interior.
I found this site that sells nitrous parts. www.speedshop.org/store/scripts/default.asp

So, basically there isnt a way to directly bolt the bottle to the trunk, as it seems as if you have to bolt it to something else, then to the trunk floor?!? I guess I will have to experiment with it or get some other ideas to see what is best.
Thanks,
Brett

You can bolt the bottle brackets to the trunk floor if you can find a flat area and be able to get at the bolts from under the trunk to tighten them. I didn't want to drill to many holes in my trunk, because it's still under warranty. With the flat plate you can drill mounting holes in the plate and sometimes it's easier to bolt down. You have to see where the bottle will fit, I needed most of my trunk space so it was easier to mount it with a plate. You may find a flat area that you can mount the bottle brackets that works, just look under the trunk before drilling holes.
