Hey, I'm new in here. I'm in other auto-forums, but recently joined this one. I just got a 99 Grand Am GT, which is nice, but I'd rather not have had to get it :angel .

I actually got it because my 99 Grand Prix GT decided to go up in flames while i was at work. All in all, though, it saved me money, so I'm not that upset about it. Anyway, my focus in my car is on audio. My car problems have scared me away from performance, and I don't have the kind of money to do really good appearence mods. So, I'll probably hang out in the audio forum the most, but I'm sure I'll get around.

Ha, well, there's no word on what caused it yet. Not sure if I'll ever find out. The firemen thought it might have been the headlight wire, but that was just a random guess on their part.

I'm still out on the GA>GP :p . Being 6'5", the GP definitely had its advantages. I'm warming up to the GA though, it's not too awful cramped.

Welcome and sorry to hear about the GP. I chose the GAGT over a GP when i got mine.

Just an update on the situation.

I ended up getting 6100 for my Grand Prix. 2000 or so of that goes to paying off the Grand Prix, which leaves 4100 for a down payment on my GA. When all is said and done, I'll only have $800 to finance on the GA, so life is looking very good right now!

It's a red 4 dr, 105,000 miles. Kinda high, but its about the same as my GP had on it. Not to mention, I have full repair records on this one, so I know what's been done to it unlike my ol' GP. As far as audio, I'm replacing speakers, getting a nice HU, and putting in subs and an amp. I already have the subs and a box (2 Dual 10's. I know they're crap, but they were a birthday gift, so I'm gonna use em til I can afford better). Since I'm only financing $800, I should be able to get the money for the stuff pretty quick.
