Hello all,

I don't know much about the subject, but I wan't to modify my exhaust to sound just a little bit louder, but not spend too much money. So I figured that cat-back exhaust was out of the question for now, but I was wondering what mufflers and muffler tips you would suggest for my GT? I was looking at flowtech, flowmasters and magnaflow..but the magnaflow mufflers with tips seem to be fairly expensive, though that is the direction im leaning in. How significant would the sound increase be if I changed both my mufflers, if at all?

Thanks

do some searching guy, there are countless threads on this subject. I'm not sure about a pre-99 GA, but the flowmaster 80 series seems to be a favorite among 99+.

they aren't saying to go somewhere else, they are saying to search. you can find out a lot more reading all the different threads when you search then starting your own.

I just purchased an 80s series flowmaster for my 2000 grand am gt. Does anyone know the preferred catalytic converter. I don't want to buy a catalytic converter that performs the same as the stock catalytic converter.

Lots of people buy magnaflow's high flow cat. Search around for more info.

If you have the $$ Id go with one of the new ZZP downpipes with a high flow cat.

You could get one custom made for cheaper though. With the downpipe you might see more gains than just a high flow cat, plus you would be one of the first people here to have one(zzp)!

I have a '96 GAGT and I put on Flowmaster Super 40s. Granted they are a little more exspensive then the other series, but they sound great on the car.
