View Full Version : Whistling Sound - Help me Identify this part

I'm getting a whistling sound from my GAGT. If I remove the grey pipe that goes into the intake plenum, the sound goes away.

The gray pipe is the one to the upper left of the FPR. Does anyone know what it does? The whistling sound itself sounds like it might be coming from a bad seal on the upper intake manifold/plenum, since if I block the valve on the plenum side (with the grey pipe removed), the whistling comes back.

Any idea what the gray pipe does?

does it go onto the vacuum fitting right above the FPR, on the UIM...if so that is the vacuum line for the air conditioning control...IIRC. if you have a huge whistling noise in that area, i would check the bolts on the TB, i had done an injector change and didnt tighten down my TB and it made a bad whistling noise after the engine reached op temps, enough to let the intake expand and create a gap on the gasket, also check the UIM gasket and bolt torque
