No problem guys (and gals). I do have higher resolution (larger pictures) available as well. I can email them to anyone interested, just drop me a message (PM or email).

To those who have emailed me for higher quality scans of these pages, I will either post them on a web site this week or email them to you. I will definitely email them to those on broadband connections, but those on dial-ups may prefer to view on the web (each file is approx. 2MB each).

What size are the speakers in the front door? They seem like 6 1/2's but Crutchfield says they are 4 x6's. I want to replace all my factory speakers, so any info will help.

Thanks gt2you2

SEARCH!! Yes, they are 4x6's behind those 6" lookin' grilles. There are adaptor kits to get a 5.25 or 6 in there, though. Metra makes the most popular one, at's about $15.

Anyone know where to get the adaptors? Do most car audio places sell them or is there some where online you can get them?

Any car audio shop wil either have them, or can get them easily enough. Some online stores stock them - if anyone knows one for sure, post up - Crutchfield probably won't be the cheapest, but they willo have them.

Tks Mikes00gagt for the scans. I would also like to know where to get adaptors for 5 1/4 speakers. I got mine in there, but I'm sure they could be in there a lot neater.

have any of you guys put new front and new speakers in your cars and not put the grills back on, Im considering doing this and just wondered if it still looks cool.

Thanks.

Due to some empty sapce between the speaker and the door, it'd be hard to get a clean look. ou cound mount the speaker on the door panel and screw through to the mount behind it - I've done this very successfully in the '96 - '98 cars - but wy not leave the grill?

THank you very much for these scans... I just about to call crutchfield and see how much it would cost for this!

when I got all new speakers for my car and tried to follow these instructions I had a bit of problems, seems they like to forget some screws or make things way more complicated then they need to be. But they are definitly a good starting point.

Well here it is in a handy PDF format, and zipped PDF... I was bored.
If the PDF online fails for some reason you can download the zipped version.
