As of recently I can hear a whinning sound whenever I turn my steering wheel. Does anybody know what this might be? I checked my powersteering fluid and it appears to be at an ok level. Any help is appreciated, thanks.

I sorta had that going on. I was told it could be an exhaust leak. IMO I think its just from the cold considering I only get it when its ridiculously cold like it is now..-15 to -25 wind chill.

when was the last time you had a power steering flush?

It is a rack problem. I have that same noise in my car. I was told when I took it in to the dealership that the whole rack needed to be replaced and they wanted like $1100 to do it. I don't know maybe a seal could be bad?

I bet it's cuz of the cold. Anyone know how to totally flush the Power steering fluid?

I replaced the fluid in the reservoir but the noise still happens when cold.

Edit: Found a real alternative to the turkey baster method:

No I didn't pay them to fix it. There was no way in hell I was about to pay that much. So it still makes the noise, but I found away to make it go away tho. Just turn up the radio:D, but I still would fix it if anybody else knows how.

to flush the pump just take off the return line and let it drain in a bucket, then continuously pour new in, maybe have someone turn the wheel also to make sure it gets in all the bypass passages and such, but thats the real way to do it. it sounds like maybe you have a galded pump or something else internal, i would replace the pump and see where that gets you
