Try cleaning out the throttle body, not that would boost it a large amount. 11 MPG is pretty bad. You may want to search around the site to find some better answers.

Oxygen sensor plays a large role in fuel economy.

You sure it's not dripping slowly out of somewhere, fuel filter connections tight?

11mpg is what my brother's 87' olds gets.

something is def amiss.

well if O2 sensor is not working right, you'd have a SVS light on. at what RPM are you driving at when you're going 55-60 on the highway?

Where i'm going with that is, if you're in third gear, instead of fourth, you're burning more gas. So you're either shifting to three, or your car is not shifting to four.

If you're above 2000 RPM, you're not in fourth gear at 55-60 mph.
