Just gauging interest to see if there is any demand for turbo headers or complete turbo kits???

I think there is a lot of interest, but not a lot of people with the $$$ to spend on a turbo set-up. The manifolds seem to be the biggest hurdle for anyone who is seriously considering going turbo though.

does anyone know what our stock manifolds max out hp wise...maybe port them, like the g.p guys are doin and have the y pipe to a turbo made, then to down pipe etc...etc... id be interested

i'm more interested in a full supercharger kit but i would also consider full turbo kit

that's what an old old member Deek did, had a y pipe made at the shop where I work on my hoopty.

I'm sure there is interest. I've had about a half dozen people on cardomain asking me about my SC or the RSM SC kit or about turbo kits. I always tell them my kit is discountinued and the RSM is overpriced and poorly made and they'd be better off making a custom turbo kit. Inevitably they message me back asking where they can get a turbo kit or turbo manifolds from.

Running any kind of boost, the stock manifolds will be a restriction. When I installed my headers I saw an immediate drop in manifold pressure of 3 psi. I didn't lose any airflow, just the pressure build up that was being caused by the slow emptying of the cylinders. Porting them won't do any good. Just make them more likely to crack. Making turbo's out of hacked stock manifolds isn't advisable either. The rear manifold is designed to flow a certain direction and if you cap the end and make it flow the other way you'll cause a lot of turbulence. It will make boost yes, but it's a compromised setup and the peak power and spool up will not be great.

I'm down for the headers depending on the quality of the work such as Ceramic Coated

I'm going to disagree. Deek was making plenty enough power, and the spooling isn't as bad as you're saying.

I will agree with it not being an ideal setup, nor it being a setup that is optimally efficient. However, for those who need to cut a corner somewhere it will do the job just fine, and give people a lil extra cash to throw into the transmission instead.

Boost manifold are definetly needed in the Grand Am or Alero aftermarket, that's the one thing holding anyone back from going turbo I think, because to get them made at a shop is roughly as much as all the turbo parts minus the manifolds.

I'll have the money later this year... within the summer I'll be getting headers made along with downpipe and putting together a custom turbo setup in my alero, and along with exhaust I figure it'll cost about 2200... now if manifolds were readily available I could get this thing made for atleast 1900 or less which includes a catback!

btw.. this is with all diy work... if someone would have it installed professionally... it'd probably be upwards of 3500

it's just because people are too lazy to find a decent shop to help fabricate. Everybody wants a bolt on and go kit, for less than $3000, with monthly installments for the next 800000 months and have the fastest car on the forums. *jerking off motion*

THAT'S the problem with this market.
