Hey guys, i just bought a supercharger, anyone know what i should do to the car, as far as prepping it, like changing wires? plugs? any filters, I want the install to go smooth as hell and want it to run right. If some of the boost brothers could help me out. And yes i will be at GAP 03, after getting this from Jim, i kinda realize that being there is a must for me now. Thanks for your help guys

If you bout the kit than it should have everything you need if you just bought a supercharger itself then you have a lot of stuff that needs to be done

Pat:
The system is designed to work on a "stock" engine, but if you have a lot of miles on your car, you just need to do general maintenance stuff.
1. Get fresh oil in the motor (switch to full synthetic if you haven't already
2. Before you put the SC on, be sure to fill up with premium fuel (at least 92 octane)
3. Check your plugs and wires for wear now; they're a pain to replace after bolting on the blower. Regular old AC Delco's will work fine.
4. Buy extra supplies, like coolant (2 gallons of Dex-Cool), RTV sealer, electrical tape, hose clamps, and extra vacuum lines just in case - you won't know what vacuum lines or clamps you might need until you get the SC kit and take an inventory of the parts you have.
Read the instruction manual a few times before you start, and expect the install to take at least 9 hours. If you need a buddy to help, PM me; I can either help out over the phone or in person.

Hey, i didnt know you lived in IL, have you installed a supercharger before? If you have your help would be great, my bro is a mechanic and has every tool imaginable, including air compressor with every air tool. I should be getting in late this week or early next week. Let me know. Thanks

The SC is very difficult to install. Matt hit all the maintenance items to perform. 9 hours at least... it may take much longer than that. Just be patient. You may also want to clean the fuel system with some of the usual gas treatment to help rid it of deposits. Remember to also check the plugs to see which banks are running lean/prefect/rich.
Also, you may want to scan the motor for any msifires, KR, etc. That will tell you what need to get done the most power from the SC. IT is MUCH easier to work in the engine bay before the SC. If you want to do headers, any headwork - DO IT NOW, before the install. I wish I had.;)
