If you can find a dealer that will pay $8k for that car, let me know where it is, because I have a lot of cars I'd like to sell.
I would sell your car outright- do not trade it in.
Edit: I don't think your price is unreasonably high, I just think you might have a hard time selling it. Many people won't buy a modded car (if they even notice that anything is done to it).

Yea you might get about 8500 if you sell it yourself. Which is what I would do with ANY car. Trading in a car is such a horrible deal.

yeah, i understand that I want to sell it outright but it's not that easy. My dad wants to be involved in it if we do and he doesn't have the time. Also, we need to sell if at about the same time that we buy the TA so idk what will happen. I should have the TA in the next week. I don't know if we can sell the GA that fast.

Yea you might have to bite the bullet a little bit then. Hope it all goes well for ya
Any pics of said TA yet?

Sell it to the sucker for $9500 Not worth more than $6000, definitely aren't going to get $7-8k trade in when the dealer then has to mark it up $3-4k to make their profit ($10-11k used '03 GAGT on a lot? never). Then again, dealer would be giving you about $4-6k trade and hiding the rest in a deduction from the TA making you think you are getting more for your car, typical sales trick.
although deep inside I feel the 9500 is just made up. what person today is still this clueless on used vehicles

Dealers near my area have ga's right around that price. I think his price close to fair.

it sucks that dealers can sell for more even tho i gaurantee mine is cleaner and has been betetr maintained and taken care of.
also, the guy that wants it wants the SLP exhaust which is hard as hell to find now and also loves the interior neons, underbody LED's, painted engine letting, custom made 1 of a kind "GT" symbol I made painted under the hood and painted calipers. i even have ALL maintinance work recorded. i'm not sayin i should get a ton of money for this car but i believe it is definately worth KBB value
it suprises me how so many people on here are sayin that GA's are worthless
^ I could see a 100k mile, poorly maintained GA selling for 6000

Here's a list of additional guidelines to follow for this section. Not all of these are forum rules, but more of a general guide for buying and selling etiquette.
Items
1) If somebody is asking a price that you think is outrageous, send them a PM, DO NOT post in their thread saying they are dumb or that they are ripping people off. Sometimes people don't know what stuff is worth and just post the first price that comes to mind. A freindly PM stating "Hey just wanted to let you know that these are only $xxx brand new, you may want to consider lowring your price to $yyy."
Glad to see that :asshat is back

bump for a nice ride...looks like mine :angel
Although I'm kinda dissapointed to see you part with this car. I can't see myself getting rid of it....i had thoughts, oh have i had thoughts...
but f*ck it im running this thing to the ground! too many memories
Oh and, this is the exact reason why I had a thread on her to gauge interest on my car to see what it would sell for and that's just the plain fact man. Mods do not add value to the car UNLESS the person interested liked all the mods, in that case they might be more WILLING to buy it but not more willing to thrown down more cash because of that fact. Ya know, you expect a used car to be well maintained when buying it, thats just point and fact.
I suggest detailing the car and getting it nice and perfect and shiny and popping a for sale sign on it for $9500 and see what happens. That is of course if the possible sale you have doesn't go through. Some kid just starting to drive will drool over these cars, they have this effect i've noticed.

KBB and NADA are funded by dealer monetary support, they are skewed to present prices that favor their side when selling.
However, when you're trading, a cars REAL value is now what it's auction price is worth (dealers will even tell you this when they lowball you). Visit Manheim's website, or any other popular dealer auction company, and you can find out what X model car is going for. It makes sense to. Why would a dealer give you more than what he can get it at auction for?? Wanna know what '04 Grand Prix GTP CompGs go for at auction right now? $12,000 or less. How about '04-'05 GTOs? Try $10k-16k.
My dad is a 30+ year GM employee, my bro-in-law is a 16 year Pontiac sales manager....everyone knows this info besides the new youngins here. So, I have a bit of a clue what I am talking about. Consider this lesson #1 of many for you all.
Sell the car to the kid for $9500, heck, even 9000 is great. You are still getting back more than 50% resale. Hold your head high and smile with that!!!
