I was wondering....I see online and some cars on the internet of newer grand ams...i'm guessin like '04 '05 ones with stock hoods that have hood scoops? is this correct? If so, how much do you think they would run? And would they fit onto my '00 GAGT?

Here is the hood I am talking about:

That hood will fit any grand am 99+. Comes on a lot of gt's. The hood isnt like 800$ its like 600. I think its def. worth the money becuase it makes Gt's look WAY nicer

I know you can get aftermarket ones from PFYC and places like that but are they the same as the stock ones? And the fact that I'm 18 and i spent 6 grand of my 7.5 i had saved up... don't really want to spend 700 on a hood even though it would make my car look 100x's better

Ya. Not genuine from the Gm dealer, but will fit fine.

true that. i think the first mod i'm goin to do is a CAI this summer and maybe a pcm if my dad will let me...if he won't i'll wait till i get to college in the fall and buy one and hopefully a magnaflow exhaust

Probably cost you a grand to get the hood, get it painted, and get it installed by someone- stick to performance mods first like it sounds like you're going to do, you'll get much more satisfaction out of them than a hood.

yeah 471.00 shipped.
As for the mods I would buy the hood last, the reason I bought mine because you can beat that price...My hood isn't on the car yet, I'm buy engine mods first and them im painting the hood and slap her on.

Yeah i plan on doing a cai this summer....father permitting......and then hopefully an exhuast...which i doubt my father will let me due. How hard is a pcm? i know its just a plug and play type part but do i hae to program anything? And i want to do a debadge of the car.

Also, what does teh doors look like without the molding things on there? anyone have picture of it?

Dont take the ribs off a GT, it will look like crap

PCM isn't hard to do.

Don't take the ribs off, it doesn't look good.

Hoods are expensive- you have to decide for yourself if it's worth it. Remember, if you keep your stock hood, you can always sell your ram-air one for a decent chunk of change and put the stock one back on.
