View Full Version : Dampness and Rainy Days Inable my GA

I have an '04 GA GT with about 48k miles on it. Whenever it rains or it is very damp out the car will barely want to stay running and the transmission shifts like it is just slamming the gears. It will drive but its jerky and you have to keep your foot on the gas when you stop. The very next day if its dry out it will run fine. What could this be??? Any help is appreciated, thanks.

Any Mods, sometimes if you have a cold air and get moisture in the intake it will do some of that. But some of the other guys on here may say differently.

No cold air, nothing done to the engine. Just a drop in K&N.

Spark Plug Wires ?
Maybe they are shorting out, when it is damp or wet out.

I am thinking that I am either grounding out someplace or the wire to the TFP is shorting and the mosture simply completes the circuit.

I had a similar problem a year or so back, have you looked in your fuse boxes to see if there is any moisture present?

Yea.my wires did that....when it got wet out they would arch over to the heater shield on the header....just get some spark plug boot protectors

Thanks guys, I will change the wires and plugs while I am at it. I am also going to put the car up and check any exposed connections and make sure all is water tight.
