Ok it escapes me right now, what's the formula to figure out ohm resistance for parallel???
I know for series it's add all ohms divided by #of resistors. (right?)
yeah I can do stereo but when it gets complicated I call in help heh heh.

1/R= 1/r1 + 1/r2 + 1/r3 .....

Without the exact algebra -

For series, just add 'em up. 3 4-ohm drivers in series is 12 ohms, for example.

For parallel, it's the impededance divided by the number of drivers, 3 4-ohm drivers would be 1.333.

Both of these assumes that all drivers are the same impedance, which they should be for a subwoofer application....

amigrands formula is the easiest way.. if wiring in parallel divide the impedance by the number of subs/coils..if wiring in series multiply..for dvc subs figure out the coils seperatly and then use the total ohm load of the sub..

i know how to find the resistance, jsut havent used the formula in a while, leave highschool forget everything :)

That's funny, I learned everything that mattered after I dropped out! lol

Props to the few teachers who really tried, but public school here is pretty much useless IMHO.... :(

the english classes and other borign classes that have no use in real life i forgot, i have no grammar, also the public schools here are lame, i learned a little bit of electronics from college

Again, I find that amusing - the only classes I viewed as helpfull were the boring ones. :p

It's best explained as an example:

Here's what you get with 2 4 ohm speakers hooked in:

Series 4 ohm + 4 ohm = 8 ohm

Parallel (4 ohm x 4 ohm)/(4 ohm + 4 ohm) = 2 ohm

Here's what you get with 2 8 ohm speakers hooked in:

Series 8 ohm + 8 ohm = 16 ohm

Parallel (8 ohm x 8 ohm)/(8 ohm + 8 ohm) = 4 ohm
