The next SLP customer appreciation day is set for February 15, 2003, in Ennis, TX. I went in August and I would say they had over 1,500 GM cars, and that was when it was over 105 degrees. No entry fee, and you can race on the 1/4 mile track for free--as many times as you want to sit in line. Here's the link:
http://www.slponline.com/cad2003/cad2003_1/cad2003_1.asp
and here's the kinda car you have to have to enter:
1982-2002 Camaro/Firebird
1984-2003 Corvette
1992-1996 Impala/Caprice
1997-2003 Grand Prix/Regal/Oldsmobile Intrigue
1999-2003 Grand Am
2000-2003 Monte Carlo
1998-2003 S-series truck
1999-2003 C/K 1500 series truck
Even if you don't want to enter, you can just check it out, anyone up to it?

I just registered my Grand Am. I don't expect to win anything, I have no mods or anything. But it'll be a fun day, hopefully the weather will be good. I saw 1 sweet Grand Am parked behind us in August. It was black with blue.

Yeah, it was sweet. The interior had the blue too. That was the first I knew of mods for GAs. You can look at some pics from the August event here, the SLPDAY and SLPDAYII:

Yeah I think that was my friend. Did he have a "Demon Domestics" car club logo? I wasnt able to make the last one but he did, he and I will both be going to this one and we will be showing our cars. I heard there were'nt many grand ams at all last time. They had to put him in the Grand Prix category because they didnt even have a grand am category. He emailed them about this and it seems they fixed the problem. I hope to see many other grand am owners there.

Can't remember if I saw that on the car. I've been looking for some pics, cuz I know I took a couple. He had a big trophy in front of it. Looks like he's put alot of time and $$ into it. I figured I'd enter since I was gonna be there anyway...I'm doing it for the free t-shirt I guess. Hope to put some faces with some names while there. How far is Kileen from there? It's only about 15 min from my house. One more reason to go...

OK, 11 days to go. I have some serious work to do before then-I've never cleaned the engine before, and she looks pretty bad. Is there a way to clean the inside hood insulation piece? Gonna give it a good try this weekend. Hopefully it won't rain next week, and will be like last weekend, in the 70's. Is there a way to get a count on people coming???

I'm registered and going but I don't think I'm going to be showing or racing my car. Maybe I'll run into a few of ya while I'm down there

a friend and I are still going. we are both showing our cars and we own grandams. My car is'nt where i want it to be but im showing anyway. The best thing ive found to clean your engine is an engine detail kit. you can pick them up at auto zone or what ever you have there. It cost about $8.00
me and my gf will be there, ive never met any of yall and still dont have a gt yet:( so ill be out there in a white civic with for sale stickers on it. if anyone wants it they can buy it so i can get a freakin gt already!!! grrr.

I'm still planning on going, will probably be in the afternoon though. Have a funeral at 11. Weather is looking alright, a bit cold though, about 50. Friday is gonna suck-looks like rain all day. Hope to see some of you out there!
