Gauging Interest: Low Mileage RK Sport Grand Am GT - 2003

I am selling off parts from my four door 2003 Grand Am GT with SC/T hood and full RK kit with a brand new paint job. The car is completely customized inside and out. The interior is all black with leather seats and blue accents (it's about 95% completely done). Once parted I will be selling the car.

Upgrades and modifications include a SLP exhaust with dual black chrome tips, custom cold air intake with K&N filter, auto trans interceptor, TPS sensor enhancer, 18" wheels with 235 tires (low miles), shaved antenna, full RK sport kit with wing and blue grilles, seven color LED underbody kit, Alpine MP3 player head unit, 650.4 Kicker amplifier w/ custom amp mount for trunk, JL 12W3v2 sub w/ custom box, Polk Audio DB5250 front component speakers, RK Sport black taillights, clear corner black headlights, and reverse glow gauges.

The paint job was done in October and the car has only been driven a couple hundred miles since then and garaged the entire time. The car is black, four door, sunroof, power everything.

The car was purchased in January 2003 with 24 miles on it. It currently has under 30,000.... I think it's around 28K actually. The car has been babied and well taken care of.

The reason I am thinking about selling it is because I hardly get to drive it now that I work in San Francisco and take the commuter train in and out of the city. On the weekend we drive my husband's truck a lot and I have my Porsche and motorocycle. I am keeping the Porsche because it's good on gas and in really good shape for it's age and rare to find in such good condition.

The car has never been in an accident and is in good condition.

I will have a more definite decision about parting the car for sure after my husband and I talk tonight. I really don't want to part with the car at all, I love my car. But I never get a chance to drive it and it just doesn't make sense to keep it. We are considering trading the car for a Honda Shadow so we both have a motorcycle then using the difference of the cash to pay down our credit card and fix the little stuff that needs to be done on the Porsche. I'll keep you all updated.

I'll get some pics for you within the next week or so of the lights. They look kinda dim right now because of the overspray. I am confident that some paint stripper will take it right off. I think I paid $135 for the kit when I bought it new. It's going to take some work to un-install it. I can use Memorial Day weekend to do it.

Sometime in June would be agreeable to me. It's going to take me a few months to part the car out and get it ready to trade in or sell.

I am sure we can get some peeps together for a meet up. I haven't been to one in quite some time. Over a year.

I have some LEDs for some of the front bulbs if you're interested. I have none for the rear.

The third brake light I have just has the LEDs in the middle and standard bulbs on either side used as signals.

I have a black car, the chrome ones with the clear corners would look like ass. You have a white car, the black ones will look awesome. The top and back of the inside of the housing is chrome and the bottom is black with the clear reflector.

I have the red signals. run the wire through the door, wire to ground and to the signal wire on each side.

The speakers are a little better than stock.

And the sub worked just fine when I took it out of the car. You're local so you can of course come by and check out all this stuff.

The lights aren't currently hooked up on the car, but they do work. We could wire them up while you're at my place.

the "perfect sound" is personal preference, search for soundclips online of different setups on these cars.

if you want what seems to be the top three: Borla, SLP, Flowmaster 80 Series (for the 3400 crowd)..not in any order. search for setups with those to get an idea of what most people like.

The SLP exhaust has a very nice deep sound. Borla is overpriced. SLP is a good way to go and not spend a lot of money. In my opinion.

stillriza - I'll probably still have them, no one seems to be interested in them. These are high-quality. Not cheap.
