Hey, guys, I did some research, and I found out the Grand Am GTs didn't come in the color of my SE, which is called Dark Tropic Teal Metallic. I'm entertaining thoughts of converting to a GT front and rear bumper, so can somebody help me out with a few shots?

Also, I wonder what the car would look like with a black wing. I'd also be interested in any ideas for custom paint (stripes or whatever) on the hood.

Here's a link to some pics I've got. Thanks, guys.

its hard to get it perfect but you get the idea. and its not THAT hard to imagine what it looks like. and dont forget the sides if you do the conversion. i think a black spoiler wouldnt look right.

Wow, that car just looks badASS. As for the spoiler, I'm just trying to come up with a custom paint idea, here and there, that won't break the bank.

And as for the side skirts, I've seen plenty of SEs and GTs, but I don't notice any difference in the sides. Am I just not looking close enough?

i dont know if theres any cheap custom paint ideas that would look good.

the GT side skirts go up to the top of the ribs. where the SE ones are just on the bottom. and the GT ribs are different than the SE ones.

Well, I had two little custom touches in the paint scheme of the '93 Ford Lightning I just sold. I had a Cervini's Ram Air hood on it, and some of the triangular area in front of the ram air openings was painted black, while the rest of the truck was Vermillion Red.

I looked at the sides on that GT in that link, and it doesn't look really different than mine. Is it the spacing between the ribs that's different on the GTs vs. the SEs?

Yeah you gotta do the full GT conversion. The car will look confused if you don't. I'm gonna go with no on the black spoiler too.

the GT ribs are smoother and longer. you can keep your sides if you want, it just wont look as good as it could. and the 4 door GT side skirts are obivously a bit different, but its still the same idea as the 2 door ones.

AH HA. You are the man. I guess I'd just never had the thought of putting a picture side by side, like that. Now I do see the difference. My eyes aren't really trained to notice that level of detail yet, I guess. Thanks.

And I do like GT side skirts, I suppose my reasoning for leaving them off in the conversion was that I thought they were the same.

Any ideas for any sort of little custom touch on the paint?
