i really don't know too much about oil. what would you all recommend to fill up a GA with 96k miles?

whatever floats your boat. any big brand will do fine.

Valvoline, Mobile one, Castrol, Store brand. Whatever your budget allows.

I prefer Valvoline, but I also used to work at a Valvoline, so... I'm biased.

IMO, for over-the-counter available stuff:
Castrol Syntec 0W-30 synthetic motor oil (that is made in Germany)
or
Pennzoil Platinum 5W-30 synthetic motor oil
Synthetic motor oils that meet the specs ACEA A3; or ACEA A5 (being thinner in viscosity & meet the gasoline mileage saving requirements).
Wix/ Napa Gold/ Carquest Premuim Blue oil filters are my choice.
PF-52 oil filter size is > PF-47 oil filter size
