i have this humming sound coming from the left front. having my right front wheel bearing replaced a month or 2 ago, i just thought the left one was acting up now. so i replaced it, and i still have the humming sound. it starts at about 30 mph, and is pretty loud. what else could it be?

perhaps the something with the strut/suspension?

also could be a warped rotor, some of my searches on here turned that up as a possible culprit.

Tire could cause that. Check your air pressure.

I had that noise it turned out to be the Goodyear RSA's Tires.

hmmm. . . i'm not going to say its not the tires, cause it could be. but i've had these tires for about 2.5 years, and this is the first time i've heard the noise. there Goodyears Tripple Threads, and still have about 40,000 miles left on them. i think what i'll do next is rotate them and see what happens. i'll give it a try, and get back to you guys. but any other suggestions would be helpful.

thanks so far

Does the noise get louder or quiter during cornering?

i usually dont take a corner at more then 30 mph. roads around here are not very curvy. i'll try it when i go home tonight though, and see what happens. what do you think it is?

To be honest, it could be one of many things. You said you rotated the tires, and they aren't the stock RSA's, so it's not the rim bead rub problem. If it was a tire specific problem, when you rotated them, the hum would have moved to the back of the car.

You said you replaced both wheel bearings, so I'm doubting that as well.

Let me know what happens when you corner. If you can find a big open parking lot, try cornering at 30. See if it gets louder depending on which way you turn - as in if you turn left and it gets louder or quiter, and vice versa.

Also, as you go faster then 30, does the noise get louder as your speed increases?

It does not get any louder after 30. its just a constant hum.

also i'll try it sometime this weak and let you know Thursday. reason being, i'll be out of town for buissness until then. so please dont forget about this thread.
