WOO... I'm excited.. Just ordered some new rims for my car today.. they are the American Racing Casino. Chrome of course.. my favorite color!! They are on back order so they won't be here for bit.. But at least then I can run the factory rims in the winter. The chrome is taking a beating... Gonna guess its all the gravel driving I did all winter. Now I don't have to worry.. Pretty rims all summer (whenever that comes) and Old rims in winter!
Oops.. Sorry.. here's a pic of the rim

Hey those are cool, i looked into those before. Hey your not too far from he, I am in Calgary, I think you will need some springs to go along with those rims. I got some used H&R that I can sell for $200CAN, and if you come down to Calgary (all tools here) I can even help you install the springs. Let me know by PM if intersted

As long as they are 18s, they should look really good.

They are 17's.... I didn't want big big ones.. I am putting low profile tires on again... I live in the country and have to drive gravel and lots if icky roads.. So I didn't want huge ones... LOL I think they'll look nice... Kaltire in Leduc has them in now.. So it will be done next week.. gave me a wicked deal on the rims and tires. The Tire warehouse In edmonton was gonna be a 6 - 8 week wait for 16" rims.. I think the 17's will be good

If you have crappy roads, wouldn't you want a bigger sidewall, not low pro?

Yeah probably... There are just a few roads that are crappy.. and as long as I don't go flying over the tracks or rhose roads I'll be fine.. and the low profile ones look better.. LOL

Her logic is flawed. Dont want 18's becuase of the low pro tires and dirt roads but she is putting on 17's with low pro's.

SHHHH.. I'm a girl... I have no logic.. its what they have.. so thats what I'm getting.. I don't like those BIG rims.. I like smaller rims.. well not the 20's or anything.. I just don't like them.. IMO they look silly.. But hey.. I'm just a girl.. right.. LOL
Its my car and I'm payin for it.. So I'm getting what I want.. so :OP on you.... They'll look good.. and thats all that matters.. Pretty car for the pretty girl... hehe

I think your confusing 24's and 18's.
18's arent BIG at all, they are the perfect size for these cars, they should have came with 18's from the factory.
These are 18's, do you really think they are big/huge?

No I guess those aren't that bad.. I never really paid attention to what was on it.. The tires that are on it right now are 225 50 16 so I just wanted something similar to those.. I got summer rubber that is 225 145 r17 federal SS595 thats what the guy gave me. He didn't have any 18's in that rim in stock.. not that I asked.. he just said he had the 17's that will fit my car and the truck ones that were on display....
I guess all the other rims I see that look retarded on are Trucks.. and IMO trucks aren't supposed to have big rims and little rubber.. they are trucks.. they should have smaller rims and BIG rubber. I think the 17's will be ok..I got a pretty good deal on the rims.. I think.. they are $210/rim

Your boyfriend is not a very good one if he isnt capable of helping you through the rim purhcase, and explaining that 18s are a good match for the average car...espeically the grand am lol. You will learn a lot from this site lol. Either way, props for modding I suppose...at least its not ricey

I will never do ricey... ever....
Its my car... and whatever I do with it is MY decision.. He helped me pick the style of rim.. not the size... He's a 4x4 person.. not a car person.. He's not the kind of person thats gonna tell me what size is better for what... The stock rims that are on it are good.. They are 16's.. I think that they look good.. the 17's will look just as good. I wasn't planning on really doing anything to it at all. I was thinking about rims this winter.. But then decided against it.. THEN I washed my car really really good earlier and wow.. my rims got messed up this winter.. so... I bought rims.. LOL
He thinks my car is fine the way it is..So really doens't care if I put rims on it... Its just the way he is... The guy didn't have any 18's in stock either.. he just had the two sets... So I took it... I was gonna get 16's..... Im a bit happer with the 17's as they'll look a bit better... I'm sure that the 18's would look a bit better.. but they didn't have them.. so have to make due.. I'm not worried..they'll look nice... I think :O)

I think we need to hear from Sik. He has had all kinds of older boyfriends in his day, so he should be an authority on the situation.
Hope you like the rims!

No kidding huh...for some reason this year our yard is horrible.. I'm thinking along with everyone else here its because the water table is so high this year that is just a sponge under us. It did used to be a slough at one time.. so.. that could explain it.
A HUGE mess is the only way to explain it...
dang, where the hell do you work? a swamp?
It looks like itlol I couldn't imagine washing my car and then parking in that! Looks like not much mud will get on the rims though.
