dead battery???

i leave tonite to go out for a business promo and as soon as i pull out my battery light comes on and my volt meter reads 12 volts only. i decide to wing it since it was a meeting i couldnt miss. after leaving the club, my car is reading 9 volts and steadily dropping. as im driving home, my ABS light, air bag light, and E-brake light all come on and as i pull up to the house, my car loses all power (brakes, steering, and lights)


anybody have any insight as to whats going on? my car was fine all day until i pulled out for my meeting

Alternator might be shot.
Battery light comes on to signal that it's not being charged by the alternator.
Same thing when you turn the key to ACC/ON without the car running.
So you're alternator might need to be replaced.
But your battery would be okay as long as you didn't run it too low.
