i just installed a cai on my 96 gagt and bought a rather large k&n for it.. anyhow the fender wall rubs on my tire during sharp turns, so i decided to just take out the whole wall. for the time being, i was wondering if anyone else has done this, the cone is pretty much wide open, i drove it around for a min today in the rain to see if it would flood or anything, so far no problems. is this safe?

i was ether thinking about moding the fender wall to get it to fit or buying one of this dry charger things?

I would get a smaller filter if it is pushing the plastic out farther. That would solve your problem. Leaving the plastic out of the fenderwell wouldnt be a big deal, but driving in the rain would be a VERY bad idea.

looks like im gonna have to put that fender back in then... straight water splashing on the cone while driving doesn't sound like a good idea, i really dont wanna get a new filter since i just spent 51 dollars on the one i got so im just gonna have to figure out a way to get the tire not to rub...
