Hey,
i have the 99 GAGT with the 4t45e and when i went to take off quickly (has never done this before) it felt the the torque converter was slipping until i let off a little. my question is: It there an easy way of checking the fluid?
is there a higher grade fluid i can put in?
would a filter + flush and fill help at all?
And lastly, what about the Slick50 for auto trannies.
thanks

Say, NO! to Slick 50 in your ATF or motor oil.
IMO, would NOT recommend a ATF flush.
Just change the fluid in the pan & change the filter; if you want to change some of the ATF.
No easy way to check the ATF; we have a "sealed" system.
But see: How To: Check automatic transmission fluid (http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?t=40973)

So what are some fluid recommendations?
/thread necro
Any answer to that?
Because I'm looking at doing a small tune up on my car at 100k [about 1k miles from now]
Included in the list was the Slick50 Tranny treatment...
But now that I see this, I reconsider?
What about the Slick50 Engine treatment?
and the Slick50 Fuel additive to clean the system?
Anyone have any suggestions?
I feel it's pointless to make a new thread on it...
when some of it is already discussed here ;)
After reading up on.

I seem to rethink things.
*eh*
After digging around more I don't know.
=S lol.
Transmission additives = bad?
Engine additives = ?
Fuel additives = ?
