I need to replace the following in my front suspension:
Upper strut mounts
Lower Control Arm bushings
and MAYBE struts.
Are these things that I can do in my driveway?
The main thing I need is the LCA bushings. Mine have gone and I am getting a clunk in the suspension when I go over bumps.
The struts, from what I can tell, are in good shape. I do not have a rough ride, and they aren't making any noise.
As for the strut mounts, the tech that looked at my car turned the wheels with his hands on the hubs. When the wheels turned, there was a creaking noise, which he said was my strut mounts.
I have never heard this noise, except when he turned the wheels in this manner. I don't think that it's a problem, but if it is, I will be doing this as well.
Does anyone have the Haynes manual part number? Canadian Tire parts counter monkeys keep telling me that "Your car is too new. They won't have a manual for it yet." But they don't bother checking the computer. I know that haynes has a manual, I've seen it mentioned here many times.
