i still dont understand why they put 340 hp into something that doesnt look intimidating. maybe i have to see it in person, but kind of reminds me of a dodge avenger. lol.

So that when the kid in the Stang, WRX, or whatever thinks he's just racing another GTP or something gets stomped. The shock value is really cool! :)

I've always thought they made that car look like a mixture of badass and professional at the same time. Nice rims, low profile tires, side skirts, nice chin spoiler, and the grill design makes it look like a true pontiac, and it looks good. Oh yeah, and it doesn't seem to have any body cladding

The interiors will see virtually no changes. That is why the car looks the way that it does. The major changes were strictly to be able to certify it for emissions and crashworthiness.

Yes, I know that. I've been following the GTO and Monaro development for several months now, and I was just stating that they made it look a lot more like a Pontiac than a Holden with the front fascia. It's nice cuz it makes it look more unique and specific to Pontiac, even if everything else is the same.

I still dunno, that wheelgap is kinda small by GM standards. When is GM gonna bring in their "standard 3" wheelgap/suspension guy??" :D

lol, i remember when he first came on the site, and the screenname started a lot of controversy ;)

I don't think he's a GA hater...he just chose a weird screen name ;)

I've been trying to think of why my name is that too....I don't really know, good question. I used to know, but now it just seems stupid and I'd have to loose my post count if I dropped it. The VTECSi part is mocking stupid people on Honda-lover forums, that I know for sure. Guess I wanted to **** people off at first, can't judge a book by its cover tho. I like the GA tho. :)

I think this car is HOT too....

....But I was reading the specs in a Motor Trend and it is a high 14 sec car off the showroom floor....I'm sure you can mod the crap out of it and make it run 10s but with the old WS-6's running 13.5's stock....a car with the same engine lost a lot of speed! This car probably does however weigh a lot more than a WS-6 or SS but geeze!

The car only weights a couple hundred pounds more so it won't be to heavy.

To me, the car look like the perfect sleeper car that could stun the crap out of people. I like that.:)

 For not over doing the styling, the Holden version looked great anyway so I wouldn't have changed much either. Can't wait to see it on the streets.

Well the monaro has 225 kW of hp, which = about 300 hp, and runs 14.7s. The one we'll get will have 340 hp and a 315 hp version of it in Austrailia pulls 14.3s with the 6 speed. We'll also have a 400 hp version, and the 300 kW (400 hp) HSV GTS 300 pulls 13.3s in the quarter. So it seems it won't be too shabby, and I guess I know why they have the 400 hp version now.

Edit: From what I can tell, the base version with 340 hp, known as the HSV GTO Coupe 255 in Australia (255 kW=340 hp) runs 13.8s in the 1/4. So it's not too bad for a hefty car.
