Cause its a Pontiac...

Try changing out the fuel filter, and O2 sensors. Then maybe run some "sea foam" through it.

check the spark plugs. depending on how many miles you have and beign a 99, they might have never been changed.

i got my fuel system flushed out and my gas mileage is better than it was when i got the car..fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, o2 sensor...all good ideas as well. also check tire pressures and try dumping some injector cleaner in there.

Take your foot out of the gas. Thats the biggest MPG saver there is.

That's why I can't complain about poor gas mpg. My foot likes the floor.

cant help it sometimes, but ive even tried easy driving. still it gets really bad. ever since my cai it got worse. i will run some seafoam through. maybe i can pick some up at checker auto. and spark plugs and wires will be next if flush dont work. if all else fails, then i will get a new fuel filter. hows that sound?

Yea im really easy going on my car most of the time too and i still get about 210 miles on a tank of gas which works out to be about 14.5 mpg city. I also have to take into consideration that i have the 65 mm throttle body and a tune. I still think i should get better but ill live with it.

id do plugs, air filter if its needing or a crappy generic ebay one, fuel filter. wires dont usually need changing

Hmmmm, that's weird. I get about 25 on average, and about 32-34 on open highway, and I only have a WAI with stock mufflers and such.

I have the 3400 V-6, and I only floor it when needed, or when I want to hear the WAI growl. lol

Yea i dont know what it is but like i said, ill deal with it. I only work about 5 miles from my house and depending on how much driving i do, it usually last me about a week.
