I found a 2000 black Alero coupe for sale locally. $3000 with leather, sunroof, v6 and 85K miles. I know the grand am is notorious for the lower intake manifold, but were there any problems with the alero?? I don't feel like signing up to the alero site for one question and I know there are a lot of owners on this forum. Any help is appreciated.

Thanks
RAZE

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to check this car out tomorrow and if it's not all beat up, then I may be back in an N-body as a beater car.

Just get the Cobalt. It will save you time and money, and you get more. N-bodies have a ridiculous amount of problems; I know, I've had multiple aleros and grand ams.

I checked the car out and it was a rusting POS. I'm not getting a cobalt because they are too expensive. $5000 is my max.

Just beware of the V6 3.0L sludge monster lol

Let's raise the engine operating temperature for emissions & extend the oil change intervals with out testing them out 1st.
= Design problem of engine running it's oil temp too hot.
