Guys wish me luck that I wake up and get to the track.

sunday is www.battleoftheimports.com BATTLE OF THE IMPORTS at LVMS!

I'm going to be in Street Comp, if i remember correctly, FWD class. Hopefully I qualify, I know I won't be competitive, but it'd be nice to be able to turn some heads and get some runs in. Hopefull the elusive 11, and hopefully even more a mid 11 so I can get kicked off the track. :)

Cheers y'all!

disappointing day. My class was full of 10 second boosted street hondas. Some with full interiors, some with not so full interiors, all on slicks. Had zero chance of qualifying with my current power. For me just to break into the final 8 bracket, I would have had to hit a minimum of 11.1. *coughs* currently out of reach.

my 2-3 synchro is basically done from the looks of it. I'm not a fan. I was not grabbing 3rd ALL DAY, except one run when I babied it in. Since I wasn't grabbing 3rd, I wasn't getting full passes that were worth a damn. I was pulling 1.9 60fts all day long but I was tripping over that 2 to 3 shift that was eluding me all day, so I wasn't focusing on my launches like I should.

Big 'effin whoop. I'm picking up a spare tranny in Arizona next weekend.

12.7@113 I think off the top of my head.

It felt so craptastic I was just completely bummed the entire day.

Such is the pits when you're running a 12 second car that was originally a 15'er

Well when I do race I don't hold back, so 2nd to 3rd synchro going isn't TOO big of a bad thing to me.

Il'l survive. I'll be back on Wednesday to see how I do with easy shifting into 3rd. haha.

Yeah...Spy was giving me attitude when I talked to him. Now I'm not bringing him any Remy when I go to Vegas.

I drink Henn VSOP or higher and Remy XO occasionally. But the Sin City Sissy requested XO when I was there next week. Then he whined about his vagina bleeding again. :amraam:

Fixed. It was originally a NA four cylinder SE after all. :heh:
saying it was only a 3 second improvement instead of a 4 second improvement actually belittles his accomplishment.

12s none the less, beat most cars on the road anyway. I showed a buddy of mine a video of one of Spy's runs, and he couldn't believe a grandma car could do that.

I've been deciding what I want to do the past couple days. I'm even considering getting a Cavalier to do a completely new build up just for the street classes with a GT40R slapped on with a decent standalone.

Right now I'm just stuck thinking what should I do with Grandma? So far the plan is to find a way to hit my elusive 11 in her this season, and then go onto a lighter GM platform, build up a new motor and go from there.

Choices, ideas, nonsense.

UPDATE:

I'm going full standalone. The current standalone I'm looking at is the Electromitive TEC 3.

So basically the plan goes as thus. I'm ditching HPTuners, and getting real engine management control.

THEN once I see how the car runs with it, I'm relisting my setup as I'll go with a completely new completely different turbo setup.

So you 2.4 and ecotec guys looking for a nice power making setup, let me know and we can make a deal soon!

2.4L guys, I'll be selling my ENTIRE turbo setup. except the oil lines, coolant lines and engine/fuel management. HOWEVER!

I will sell my current calibration to help get your car running w/ it on 750cc injectors. EVENTUALLY!

So this is what I'm going to end up doing.

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/catelog/Turbochargers/GT40/GT4094R_751470-19.htm

Custom exhaust manifold, downpipe, 44mm tial wastegate, bigger interfooler and charge piping. oh yeah and the TEC3. Along w/ a complete head rebuild with HO cams.

Damn dood. Im guessing those 10 sec. full street trim hondas made you a little envious? I wish someone would build a 3400 to show that 8.99 grand prix whats up.

10 second street hondas really pissed me off. and the 10.5 second cobalt didn't help either.

It's time to play hardball.

I think you owe it to the public, us fans, and the whole Grandam community to keep going for it in Grandma.

Heck, I'd even settle for 12.0 flat.

Find out what the 10.5 Cobalt was running, and just drop the same engine+mods in your car. Problem solveddddd
