So i have this issue with the acceleration of my car. For like 8monthes my car was showing a EGR valve issue when we scanned it.(check engine light was on) so i got a new one, put it in yesterday, same problems. I didnt scan it again yet, but im not sure what it can be. The car is just really sluggish, and its idling a bit weird. Every so often it actually stalls if i take my foot off the brake and hit the gas from a dead stop.

Im thinking its my cat(again), and theres not enough airflow.....Any suggestions?

Hook up a vacuum gauge and goose the throttle a few times. If you had a bad cat the vacuum would slowly go down and come back up rather than doing it quickly. Also is it possible you have a chunk of carbon stuck in your EGR vavle?

There's a PCM update available to correct a false P1404 for the EGR valve. Dunno if that was your code or not but its possible that it could have been.

Yea im gonna have to look. I got 3 codes. But my shop couldnt tel if it was anything else because the EGR was the first code that popped up and apparently you cant get any other code if one pops up? Idk. the check engine light was off for 5minutes then popped back up.

I was also thinking maybe fuel injectors are bad/dirty? because for the longest time ive had a periodic starting problem, where my car would just keep turning over for like 5-10seconds and then eventually start, but it i turn it, and tap the gas it starts but theres a rattle sound when it initially starts. So idk wtfek is going on. I had the cat replaced once under warranty(80kmi) but now its over so it will suck if i have to get ANOTHER new one.
