How do you guys feel about Reggie Bush, do you think he's lived up to the hype or if he is a wash. My brother and I were talking about this the other day & I feel that he has not lived up to the hype. I'm not saying that he will never be good, I think that the mental requirements and level playing field of the NFL are a huge shock & he just hasn't adjusted yet.

If you were to label people according to what they have produced in accordance with what they were expected/marketed to produce...Reggie Bush would be one of the biggest BUSTS in recent history.

However, he hasn't been terrible in reality, just not the crazy playmaking person as expected. He's a solid player to have on your team. I feel confident in saying he WILL NOT be the NFL player that he was suppose to be, or that the media is continually whoring him out to be.

His rushing performance so far in the league is worse than many backup RBs around the league. For example...off the top of my head...a person like Sammy Morris of the Bills/Dolphins/Patriots is a better runner than he is. We'll see just how good Reggie can be now that Deuce is out. But I would guess Aaron Stecker will see a majority of the rushing attempts still over Bush.

Yeah he's definitly a bust as far as the hype goes, but he's no Ryan Leaf either

No doubt, Reggie(as it is now) is a top 5 bust of my history for SURE. If he had E. Smith's O-Line, he'd be a lot better. Plus, up until Duece got hurt, he wasnt a starting running back, hes the flex guy, which is helpful, but will not EVER put up huge numbers. If he was on a team with a decent line, and was the only RB, I doubt we have this convo. IMO :leg

I'll bet that is very close to 50/50 with bush getting more carries. What does suck for Bush is the oppositions eyes are one him when hes on the feild no matter where he is, a target.

Reggie Bush does have as many Rushing TD's as LJ and LT COMBINED this year :applause:

The question is, how will he be in the fourth quarter if he isnt used to being a starter?

I don't really follow college football much, so I don't know exactly what he did in college...therefore, i have no opinion on that one lol

I know I'm a colts fan, but all things considered, had the Colts drafted him, he would of lived up to the hype. A Running back is only as good as his o-line, and the Colts have that. Look at Joseph Addai! how many people honestly though he'd be as good as he's turned out? The colts got him as a 30th pick overall, and since he's joined the team, everyone's all but forgotten Edge. LOL even I almost forgot about him. Its almost as if he's retired being in Arizona

What about Barry Sanders, his OL was garbage but he is one of the best RB in NFL HISTORY.

Saints offensive line is horrid. And like any phenom in college, its ALOT different then running around with 19-23yr old kids trying to catch you. As opposed to 25-35yr old jacked steroid freaks that are 6'4 250lbs of muscle running you down and blasting you. Hes had some decent highlight reels, but unless his line is good, hes just as good as me at running back lol

living up to the hype, and best in the history of the game, is a little diff :)

Didnt take enough out of he's quote. My statement was more to him saying a RB is only as good as his OL. Barry's OL was truly one of the worst in history and look what he did.

I think in away it really is too soon to tell. The Saints look like they might be facing an off year... but I don't think its over forever for them. I think Reggie may live up to the hype before its all over, its just too soon to tell. Give the saints another year or two, and let them build up that line, and Reggie may just live up to the hype!

BTW I really hate to see them doing this poorley. I Really expected a lot more than they've shown
