Im just venting, sorry if its in the wrong section. Was installing my new ported intakes manifolds on a cold engine....and yea the bolts stripped the aluminum in the lower intake. And i did torque it right. I just think its my luck playing a HUGE factor.......ugh sorry just venting

The bolts are snug down in there. Im not too worried about it. Its just something so simple to do,something stupid has to happen. Im not gonna be able to fix it till xmas break. It should last till then, took it for a ride for about an hour and everything was great. But blahhhh im just upset something dumb has to happen

That sucks, but you want one worse? I was working on a plow truck with my father, just changing the spark plugs. It was an 84 and not taken care of by the previous owner, so of course 2 spark plugs actually snapped off instead of coming out. Had to use an ez out to get one out. On the other one, the ez out break off in there. To make a very long story short, ended up taking the top end of the engine off to change the damn sparkplugs.

Yea...like ive had a rough week, happy to get my stuff here. Install the upper and the phenolic spacers i got with it. Yea torqued three of them and they snapped, the threading in the bolt hole broke off. Luckily its was the top four threads that wore off.So i just got longer bolts.whether or not all that will hold, who knows. Im just gonna get a new lower during my break here from school. But as for now,i dont think i should have any problems with it bc the upper has the suction pulling it down...

As for fixing it,im most likely either going to Helicoil it or just get a ported LIM. I mean its on there good enough now....it shouldnt come loose....hopefully. Im going to the track next weekend,so we'll see

I thought that was you. Do you have blue on your GAGT at all? I always see a black GAGT with blue letters on it at BTL.
On a side note, those clouds came out of no where today. Was up to 6,500' MSL and had to drop down to 3000 in a matter of 15 minutes. AZO approache wanted me at 3,500 but that was a no go.
And on another side note, do you play hockey at all? And if so, are you playing on the CoA hockey team this year?

No blue on the GA....all black. Thats some other kid. Mines over by the maintenance hanger allll the time. As for the clouds,i did see them at the track.it was nuts, luckily it was just south of us. And hockey,i love hockey, but i dont have any equipment and havent skated in a couple years

did you use brand new bolts? or what is the proper procedure for doing negine work like that? were the new bolts garbage since you torqued them correctly
