A lot of things have changed in the last 6 months, graduated from Grad School, moved from Chicago to Charlotte NC, and started my job w/ Wachovia.
I've been down here since June 1, and traded in my GAGT back on July 4th...

I had been looking for an V8, 6 speed manual car and test drove a CTS-V, GTO, and a C5 and a C6, and the only one that I really liked was the C6.
It took me nearly 2 months to find this car, the LeMans blue and the 6 speed manual was a real pain the butt to find. After getting the runaround from a few dealerships, I finally found this one down in Atlanta and drove down over the 4th of July and drove this car back home.
Now for teh pics...

Nice car, hope it isn't living beyond your means! haha
I get a bunch of crap at work for buying a $14000 car when my co-workers are buying $25000+ cars... but every time it comes to going out, or buying tickets, or picking up some new suit, I'm the only one that has money to spare. I love cars, but never would I strap the rest of my life to have a sweeter one than I already do.

Man, I still envy that 6-speed. If only the XLR came in a manual...

Man, im thinking, i hope i can afford like a mazda 6 for a next car, never mind a c6. Very nice car. First thing id do is get rid of the dealer sticker. Next id see about some new mirrors. They look to me like leftovers from the c5's. Anybody make aftermarket ones which look a little nicer?

Get the rims chromed, or black powder coated, with some tint FTW.
I assume you went to grad school for finance/MBA?

Dealer sticker is long gone, these pics are a bit old.
NC - its hot, definately hotter then Chicago, we had 5 weeks of 100+ degree temps. I cant wait for the mild winter and no snow.
Im a systems engineer, and play with computers all day long.
Car plans, Z06 brakes and wheels over the winter, and eventually an APS Twin turbo kit.

Wow, have you come a long way.
You definately have a step up on your co-workers.
Hopefully, they can learn from you.

Congratulations! Awesome car and awesome color choice. That's quite the upgrade from the gagt.
You're skipping steps here. Next step is the GTO, then the vette. nice choice anyways.

Saying I used to be stupid and spend money foolishly? Don't worry, still do. Just not as much!

Amen.
But back on topic, nice car! I love the new C6... should have just spent the extra 30 grand and got a ZeeOh haha.
Seriously though, bad ass ride and great choice.

Something about carbon fiber, 500 hp, and daily driver dont mix.
Besides how many 400 hp cars get 30+ mpg on the highway? I went from Charlotte to Dayton OH on 1 tank of gas! That was 4 states an all freeway of 75+ mph!

Thats an awesome ride there. Quite an upgrade from the gagt! Here's what you need to do it: leave it alone, and have fun! Drives me nuts when people buy these expensive sports cars and then tear them apart in there garage a month later...
I'm hoping that I'll be making more money when the Camaro comes out, as that hopefully will be my big sports car purchase. Probably still keep the Cav as a daily driver (since I doubt the Camaro will be rated at 25 - 34mpg like the cav is) and make the camaro my weekend "recreational" car

Congrats on the new vette. Id put some Z06 wheels on that beast first thing. Your one of few that goes from a Grand Am, to a Corvette. lol

Oh, and put an exhaust on it too... If you don't mind cutting the factory mufflers off the over axle pipes, most offset/offset mufflers will fit right on there...
This is what i did with the exhaust on the X.
