here lately ive heard alot of hype about a tornado, and was wondering would it work with are ramair system, anyone tired it? if so any gains? it said it can boast up to 15-20hspr that would put us up to around 200 plus add a K&N and we'll have a lot more power, anyone done this?

lol! that number is most likely and estimate. i am positive it will not put out 20 horses. a k&n will put out at most, 3 maybe 5. so, dont expect to get to 200 by that thing. i've heard from a friend that it did help gas milage alot, but not horsepower.

It is mainly hype. It sometimes helps by getting more air sampling to the sensors, but the MAF screen supposedly does the same thing.

Give it a try and let us know. Make sure you can get your money back. :p

i think there was a post on the old forum, and someone tried it. To sum it up, I think he had an SES light and it caused many problems. I would personally stay away from it.

I had put a Tornado into my 2001 GAGT about 4 months ago and all I noticed was about a 20 mile per tank increase in gas mileage. No horsepower gain and definately not worth the $70.00. The dang thing barely fits between the MAS and the intake manifold. ( you really have to cram the air tubing back to get the dang airbox back on.) After I got my K&N filter and Flowmaster exhaust installed I took out the Tornado and noticed nothing at all. So it now sits on a shelf. Dont buy unless you have a use for a $70.00 piece of Aluminum crap. Save the money and use it on gas, or save up for exhaust. At least we know exhaust is at least proven to give you a little better gas mileage. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!:o

tornado = crap that will probably restrict air from entering your engine, while doing some "really cool" spinning stuff! YIPPPEEE!!! lets all do a group buy! ;)

The Tornado was originally designed for throttle body injected vehicles. It became very popular on fullsize pickups in the mid-90s. Sport Truck did a dyno test once, because they could not believe all these people were buying an unproven performance mod that consisted of a piece of aluminum on a thrust bearing. They werevery surprised when it actually worked! Kindof... Instead of the claimed 15hp gain, they got around 5hp and 10lb/ft of torque. (this was a V8 BTW) This proved that the theory actually had some truth to it. But for $70 (at that time, I don't know how much they are now) They were not hardly worth the $. They don't work nearly as well on fuel injected vehicles, especially those with a MAF for some reason. Just wanted to let everyone know the history and why it won't work well on our GA's. Peace:thumbs:

Also considering the screen on the maf is to smooth out the air flow across the sensors, the tornado would be counterproductive to that and probably do more bad than good.
