i had the original rsa's on the car when i purchased it and they sucked. i had since bought yokohama avid v4s and loved the tires they seemed great that was two years ago and about 32k worth of sprited driving and my tires are due for replacement. which kinda sucks cuz the utqg rating was 500 so im not sure why i didnt get longer life out of them. im tight for cash and need to get tires for the car and they have to make it through winter snows in chicago. right now im debating for replacing with the same yoko's i have. my other choices are the yokohama avan s.4. and the goodyear tripple treads. ive heard great things about the tripple treads but i dont know if i need a tire with that kind of tread life my cars got 86k on it now and i hoping i could get a new car by the end of next year, but im against running cheap ****ty tires since it could safe my ass in poor weather. havent heard much about the avan s.4. but they look to be the upgraded performace of what i currently have. so let me know you opinois i do still have stock rims so the tires size is 225/50/16. trying to not spend alot of money but i know thats hard to do when getting 4 decent tires.
thanks

I have the Triple treads on my car. They are a great tire. I replaced the RSAs cause they suck in the winter. The triple treads do grip the road very well, even on ice. It's like night and day difference between those two tires.

I am a big Falken fan....I still find them to be one of the best tires for the money.
Though I only have personal experience with the FK and Azenis series(which arent all season), I have heard of alot of people finding their all season tires to be a great bang for the buck.

I have the triple treads also, had them for only a couple thousand miles thus far, but I love them. The dry traction is great and so is wet from what ive seen, though not much rain to try it out. one thing is that they were kinda loud around turns when i first got them, mostly from the tread pattern i think, though now they are quieter.

I can attest to the awesomeness that is the triple tread. Great tires. They have worked flawlessly for me in all weather conditions over the last 2 1/2 years.

talked to the tire shop today they want 760 for the triple treads, and thats to much money. the yokos do have a treadlife warenty so they will redeam me about 30 bucks a tire towards a new set since they wore way to fast. i have about 4/32 of tread left and only 32k on the tires.

I use the Continental ContiExtremeContact on my Alero, and they're definitely the best all season I've had for the winter months!

Last year when I got new tires I went with Goodyear Eagle GT HR's. They were cheaper than the tripletreads, but still have I believe a 50,000 mile warrenty. I know these tires are better than the RS-A's in the rain and snow and so far they are wearing really well.

Hey, if you haven't gotten new tires yet and you're still looking, go to Discount Tire - they are running a special for $100 off 4 tires right now. Runs through 10/27/07. Illinois coupon (http://www.discounttire.com/dtcs/illinoisCoupon.dos) I'm heading there today or tomorrow to get my Triple Treads.
