I wanted to upgrade my brakes, but i cant see myself spending $600+ for a brake upgrade. My question is can 00-04 Impala brake rotors fit on my GA with out changing parts? If not what would i have to buy in order for them to fit? TIA

search for the f-body brake swap thread. You use the impala rotors and fbody calipers.

The swap info is here... HOW-TO Install Corvette brakes on a 99+ GA (http://www.grandamgt.com/forum/showthread.php?t=62144)

You do have some other options though..

You can do the swap as-is using the camaro brackets and corvette calipers as described.

You can use Camaro brackets and camaro calipers.

You can use Impala brackets and Impala calipers. This requires drilling out the mounting holes in your knuckle to 14mm.

You could also do either of the first two, but use C5 rotors and this adapter bracket (http://www.lgmotorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=1556).

I'd use the corvette or camaro parts. It's not really that expensive, and it's well worth the money. You get what you pay for and better brakes are something these cars need desperately. ;)

Everyone always want things........

No one wants to pay for things.......

To be able to do what you want, when you want.......... PRICELESS

I agree with Aaron

Im going end up doing the Corvette Brake Upgrade. I dont have all the money to do all 4 wheels but 2 for now. Which would you do first the front or the rear? The front right?

do the front, as for the rear, im not to sure if they got that going. I just have fbodies up front and drilled in the rear

The front brakes do 70% of your braking. Any upgrades to the front will have the biggest difference. The rears you can get away with some braided lines and better pads and get a little more stopping power from them.

I have a whole bunch of parts right now trying to figure out the rear setup (rear rotors, calipers, backing plates from a F-Body. Calipers from a C5). I've only gotten as far as fitting the 12" vented rears, but spacing the wheels out about 1/4" to 1/2" I want to try and make it better.

The only problem with that is that the thread starter didn't completely finish the project. I'm thinking of doing that but not sure what bracket to use.
